Tutorial #2 - Warriors of Light [Part one of five]

This tutorial, and the five that will follow, are for nails inspired by the Final Fantasy games. In particular, the old school ones. They feature four of the job classes from the original game, a chocobo, and a moogle. Since each nail has a completely different design, I'm breaking this up into sections. One per nail. Starting with the designs made on my thumbnails; The Moogle and the Chocobo.

Step One:
Put down your base coat. I did all of my base coats at once, and only have the one picture of them. For the chocobo and moogle, they both have the same background. I made a blue sky behind both designs.

Step Two:
Rub the end of a Q-tip into a bit of white nail polish. You can just take it off of the brush. DO NOT COAT IT. Just a little on the end. Gently dab it around in light blobs on the nail, to form clouds. You should still be able to see the blue through the clouds.

Step Three:
Using yellow nail polish, and the edge of the brush, paint a body for your chocobo. I found the easiest way to do this was to use the edge of my brush, and work VERY VERY slowly.

Step Four:
You can use gold, orange, or a shade of yellow that varies enough from that used for the Chocobo's body.Using the edge of the brush, again, paint a beak and legs for your chocobo. Notice that the legs are bent backwards, before angling the feet towards the front. Paint a small dot for an eye, and your chocobo is complete! (My eye turned out massive, and makes the whole chocobo look awkward. Be careful of that. XD)

Step Five:
Using the white, paint a head and body on the other nail. The head should be significantly larger than the body. Use the edge of the brush, or a finer brush to paint tiny, stubby, arms and legs.

Step Six:
You can use a thin brush, but I just used the edge of a normal 0ne. A thinner brush would give you a better result, though. Paint two small, thin, curved lines on the head, for it's eyes. Also do a slightly longer one coming from the top of his head. Use a dark purple to paint two small blobs for wings. (Oh no!! Super blurry picture! DX)

Step Seven:
POM POM! Use red nail polish, and put a red ball slightly smaller than your moogle's head on the end of the line.

And now he ish finished~ Aren't they lovely? Put a protective topcoat over your fancy new nails, to keep them safe and lovely. Tomorrow night, You can expect a tutorial for a black mage design.
