Tutorial #1 - Summer Breeze

So for the first tutorial, I thought I'd start of with something cute and summery. :3 I actually did these nails for a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago, and they turned out really well. So I did them again for myself. I used the following colours...
By no means are you obligated to use these colours. You can use whatever colours you want. These are just the ones i used. :3

First:
Remove any traces of nail polish. Wash your hands, just clean up your nails and make them look all pretty. That will usually include trimming them, filing them, and making any necessary repairs.
Second:
Put down your base coat. I used Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Blue me Away. Whatever colour you use, just be sure to put on enough coats to make it opaque. It won't look nice if you can see the nail through it. Let each coat dry completely before putting on the second one. I only used two.
Third:
Using a some-what translucent colour (I find that sparkling ones look nicer), paint an arc in one corner of each nail. I did mine all in the same corner, but you don't have to. I also used a sparkly purple nail polish that I bought from Claire's.
Fourth:
Using a thin brushed polish, paint three or four lines coming out of the purple corner. I used white. Try to make the amount of lines proportionate to the size of your nail. It also looks good, sometimes, if the lines are a little bit curved. I'm sorry, but the label of my thin brushed white is scratched off. And it was a gift. So I have no idea of the brand, or where you can get it. I've been searching for a while, but haven't been able to find anymore. Fifth:
I used Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Green With Envy for this. Using the edge of the brush, put three small dots in between each line, along the edge of the arc drawn in step three.
(Optional) Sixth:
Wait until your design is completely dry. In fact, you should be doing that in between each layer you do. Otherwise, you could smudge your design or taint your brush. When it's dry, put a topcoat or clear polish on over top of your design. You don't have to do this, but it is a good idea, as it will prevent chipping, give your nails a nice finish, and keep them looking lovely. :3And here's the finished product~ (Taken in my pool. :p) Feel free to experiment with different colours and ideas. :3 Don't be restricted!

If you have something you'd like to see done, please don't hesitate to comment and throw a suggestion my way. If you try this out, I'd love to see pictures, too~ :D

Just a suggestion, you don't have to follow through, but it would be kind of interesting to have guest posts sometimes, if any of your friends are interested in nail art. o u o
